Scope of this policy
This policy covers your use of our website and tools as a guest, including the AI chat assistant, guided help flows, rights guides, document templates, and help directory. Account sign-in and sign-up screens may appear as early UI; full account features are not fully launched. When accounts go live, we will update this policy and in-product notices.
Information we collect
You may use many features without creating an account. We may collect: (1) Content you submit — questions, prompts, and text you type into chat or tools; (2) Technical data — such as IP address, device/browser type, approximate region, pages visited, and timestamps needed to operate and secure the service; (3) Optional analytics — if you allow analytics cookies, we may collect aggregated usage statistics through third-party analytics tools. We do not ask for payment card data on the free guest product.
What we ask you not to send
Do not include unnecessary personal details in questions. Avoid passwords, full national ID or passport numbers, bank PINs, medical records, or complete case files unless a feature specifically requires them and you understand the risks. Chat text may be processed to generate answers and may be logged for safety and quality.
How we use information
We use information to: provide answers and features; improve accuracy and product quality; detect abuse, spam, and security threats; review clearly wrong or harmful outputs; and comply with applicable law. We do not sell your legal questions or personal data. We do not use guest query content to train public foundation models for sale of advertising profiles.
AI and third-party processors
To generate answers, text you submit may be sent to third-party AI, hosting, or infrastructure providers acting as processors or service providers. Those providers process data under their own terms and security controls. Retrieval-augmented answers may also consult our indexed legal materials. We select providers we believe are appropriate for the service, but transmission to third parties involves residual risk.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies or local storage needed for the site to work (for example, locale preference and analytics consent choice). Optional analytics cookies load only after you accept via our consent banner. You can choose “Essential only” to refuse optional analytics. Legal questions are never sold as advertising data.
Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Anonymous or de-identified chat logs are retained for a limited period (default about 90 days) and then deleted or further aggregated, unless a longer period is required for security, abuse investigation, or law. Analytics retention follows the relevant provider’s settings. When accounts launch, we will explain how you can delete saved history.
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information (such as access controls and secure transport). No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please use strong device security and avoid sharing sensitive data in free-text questions.
Your rights and requests
Subject to Bangladesh’s Personal Data Protection Act, 2026 and other applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, or ask questions about our processing. Email [email protected] with enough detail for us to locate your request. We may need to verify your identity and may refuse or limit requests where the law allows (for example, where fulfilling a request would harm others’ rights or our security). This policy will continue to be refined with Bangladesh counsel review; it is not a certified PDPA compliance certificate.
Children
AdalotBD is intended for adults and for use by or with a parent/guardian when a minor needs legal information. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18 for marketing. If you believe a child has submitted sensitive personal data, contact [email protected] so we can delete it where appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, processors, or law change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy for future visits, except where consent is required by law for a new processing purpose.
